Scott Rosner (one player whom I have loads of respect for) came down to the studio to lay some percussion on the waking call tracks. The requested no pics be taken of him, but we grabbed some of everything that was recorded that day.

Its a work in progress, but it has been really fun to get a working keyboard rig up. I’ve decided to split patches so I can have different bass sounds than my “keyboard” sounds. I am using our Carvin PA panned hard R and L to put each sound in its own speaker. Until I get another sweet USB controller, I am using the massive 88key controller thats hanging around the studio. Soon it will be neater. Soon it will be more compact.

Marley tracked the vast majority of the guitars on the song whose working title is The Waking Call. Its mostly clean, but the heavy part is capital-H HEAVY! Equipment used: Fandango, JCM800, Mesa Roadster, Blues Driver, RV-3, G&L Tele, CB Hill Roadster, LP Studio.

The waking call brought down their collection of gear to start to put guitars on their record. They brought in a Rivera Venus 6, Rivera Fandango, and a 65 amp. Marley used his G&L tele and Sean used a LP Studio. Lots of pics:

A while back we did some guitars for Crushed on You’s upcoming three song release. Here is a snapshot of some of the gear:

Its pretty rad to play keyboards. I am running Ableton live 7 on my laptop. All my sounds are available free on the internet. I will post what they are as the band starts to release recorded material.

So far I have been really impressed with everything from TAL, Lazy Snake, everything from TweakBench, and Crystal.

Marc Jackson from Crushed on You came into the studio to lay down three tracks. Two are going on their 7″. One is planned for digital distribution. Marc was hard hitting as usual. That busted snare head was new when I put it on the drum.

I bought 144 sticky hands on ebay for use as drum muffling. The are a little smaller than expected, but they should work.

Tonight Tim helped me track some drums. The birch Starclassic hasn’t been getting much love, but we tuned the toms and snare up and got some crazy good sounds.
